Pulse Reminds You to Support Local During Small Business Saturday

This year, Pulse encourages you to celebrate Small Business Saturday by shopping local, and shopping small. In 2024 Small Business Saturday falls on Saturday, November 30th. Northern Colorado is filled with unique, locally owned restaurants, boutiques, service providers, and more – there is bound to be a local business that has whatever you may want need.

What is Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is an initiative started by the Small Business Administration. It was created to coincide with events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On Small Business Saturday, shoppers are encouraged to shop at local small businesses rather than larger corporations. In 2023, the reported projected spending in the U.S. from those who shopped at small businesses on Small Business Saturday was around $17 billion.

There are over 33 million small businesses in the U.S. and hundreds in Northern Colorado. As you begin your holiday shopping, consider starting with small businesses!

Why It’s Important

Now more than ever, it’s important to support small businesses because of their impact on local communities. When you support small businesses, you not only support people in your community but can also ensure that your money is going directly to your neighbors, friends, and colleagues. This strengthens local economies and bonds within the community. Small businesses are large contributors to vibrant downtown areas and positive community engagement; the more we can support them, the stronger the community becomes.

How to Find Small Businesses

A good way to find small businesses in Northern Colorado is to visit your local Chamber of Commerce website. There, they should have a list of local businesses that partner with them. Here are links to some of our favorites:
