For generations, my family has been deeply rooted in this community, and we’ve always believed in giving back as much as we’ve received. My grandfather moved here in 1956, with just $500 in his pocket and a handshake deal, to start a business that has now been part of Loveland’s fabric for nearly seven decades. As the current steward of our family’s legacy, Weedin Agency, I’ve witnessed firsthand how vital a strong, connected community is—and how Pulse, our community-owned fiber-optic internet provider, has transformed the way we live and work.

Before Pulse, our community’s unique needs were not being met

Establishing a city-owned utility like Pulse was no small feat. It required vision, leadership, and significant investment, but the payoff has been immense. Before Pulse, we were at the mercy of a handful of providers who showed little interest in meeting the unique needs of our community. As both a business owner and a resident, I often felt ignored. Connectivity issues were frequent, and support was practically nonexistent. It was frustrating to feel like just another number.

High-speed internet isn’t a convenience; it’s a necessity

Pulse changed all that. The idea that our town could take control of such a vital utility—one that has become the backbone of modern life—was exciting. And the results have exceeded my expectations. For my business, reliable, high-speed internet isn’t just a convenience; it’s a necessity. From processing claims to communicating with clients and managing data, everything we do depends on seamless connectivity.

With Pulse, we’ve had zero downtime. It’s been a dream ever since it was installed. I was initially nervous about the transition, but the Pulse installation team made it effortless, ensuring we stayed online with minimal disruption. The symmetrical upload and download speeds have been a game-changer, especially when handling large files. Tasks that used to take ages—like uploading documents or videos—are now instantaneous. This scalability means we can grow without worrying about whether our internet can keep up.

Someone local and knowledgeable called back to help…on a Saturday!

On the home front, the benefits are just as remarkable. I’ve had Pulse at my house since the day it became available, and it’s been fantastic. I’ll never forget the satisfaction of replacing my old provider, whose service felt impersonal and overpriced. With Pulse, I’m treated like a valued member of the community. One experience stands out: I had trouble connecting my internet-enabled meat smoker. When the smoker company couldn’t resolve the issue, I called Pulse. Not only did I reach someone local and knowledgeable, but they also went above and beyond, researching the problem and calling me back—on a Saturday—with a solution. That level of service is unheard of.

Pulse isn’t just an internet provider, it’s a symbol of what we can achieve together

Beyond the technical advantages, Pulse embodies what my grandfather always believed: you can’t just take from a community; you have to give back. By keeping this essential service local, we’re reinvesting in ourselves. Pulse isn’t just an internet provider; it’s a symbol of what we can achieve together. It’s a utility built by the community, for the community, and it’s made Loveland a better place to live and work.

The tools to thrive, while staying true to our values

As a business owner and a lifelong resident, I couldn’t be more proud of what our community has accomplished. Pulse has given us the tools to thrive in a modern world while staying true to the values that have always defined our town. It’s proof that when a community comes together, we can achieve incredible things.
