Pulse Fiber Internet is committed to net neutrality

Net neutrality, the principle that all internet traffic should be treated equally without discrimination or favoritism, is a foundational concept that underpins the free and open nature of the internet. Choosing an internet service provider (ISP) that subscribes to net neutrality is crucial for maintaining a level playing field, preserving innovation, safeguarding freedom of expression, and ensuring fair access to information for everyone.

At its core, net neutrality advocates for the idea that ISPs should not have the power to control, manipulate, or prioritize internet traffic based on their own interests or financial gains. This principle ensures that regardless of whether you’re a large corporation, a small business, an individual, or a startup, your online content can reach users without any artificial barriers imposed by ISPs.

Pulse’s network management is focused on customer satisfaction and equitable connectivity for all. With those goals in mind, Pulse embraces and is committed to the practice of net neutrality. In other words, Pulse does not block, throttle, or prioritize any traffic on our network. Pulse and the City of Loveland believe that the Internet must remain free and open, and that is the way Pulse operates its network. Pulse’s net neutrality Statement is posted online here. Further, the commitment to net neutrality and data privacy of users is included in the City of Loveland Municipal Code 13.22.030 and 13.22.040.

“In provision of its municipal fiber services, the City must treat all lawful data on the internet equally, and not discriminate by individual user, content, website, platform, application, type of attached equipment, or method of communication and will not intentionally block, slow down or charge money for specific lawful websites and online content.” – City of Loveland Municipal Code 13.22.030″

At the time of this publication, net neutrality is not the law in the United States, and many providers do not subscribe to the practice because they are not legally required to and it does not serve their financial interests.  Pulse proudly upholds the practice of net neutrality, and operates its network accordingly because it is the only way to ensure fair and equitable access to all internet content. Choosing an ISP that adheres to net neutrality principles is a proactive step toward preserving the free exchange of ideas and information, which is the essence of the internet. Consumers should consider advocating for and supporting ISPs that commit to an open and neutral internet, ensuring that the internet remains a platform that fosters innovation, protects free speech, promotes fair competition, and guarantees equal access to information for everyone, regardless of their background or financial standing.
